Marc Darroze’s estate is situated in Mazere on the second terrace of the Garonne River which is approximately 7km away.
He turned this estate over to organic farming in 2008. The results are amazing and this second vinatge is terrific.
With 65% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Cabernet Franc, none of which were over-extracted, the nose is immediate with good complexity.
Red plum and lead pencil – with a round and soft palate the red fruits are dominant and notes of chocolate in the finish. This wine has some minerality that is a tell tale feature of the Graves.
Ideal for current drinking but with a good 5 years ahead of it.
Food Match: Duck is a must.
