After the 2008 harvest the cool, wet weather between June and September had turned around by December which was warm and dry. Early January was cooler, but by the middle of the month the good weather returned and it remained hot right through to harvesting in March. The grapes were hand sorted and lightly crushed into stainless steel tanks for fermentation. The 2009 Grand Vin De Glenelly then went into French barrels to mature for 18 months.
A blend of 42% Shiraz, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Merlot and 4% Petit Verdot , matured for 18 months in French oak barrels.
