In classic Coonawarra style this wine shows a bright crimson colour with rich berry and cassis aromas and flavours over soft tannins.
Named after the leather tanning pits which were dug into the terra rossa soil last century on the original Hollick property in Coonawarra.
Classic Bordeaux varieties Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot thrive in the sunshine of Australia’s Coonawarra region, and maturation in French and American oak contributes to the Hollick Tannery Block’s overall balance and drinkability.
Cabernet Sauvignon is the major component of the blend, with around 10% of Merlot added for softness in the early years of the wine’s life. More often than not a dash of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot are also included to add complexity.
