Selected from two parcels of fruit from Yealand’s Seaview Vineyard, where Sauvignon Blanc vines are grown on New Zealand’s most coastal vineyard.
The vines are exposed to some of the toughest growing conditions in the country; Low rainfall, high sunshine, cool nights and strong winds. And the result is a smaller, fuller, thicker-skinned berry and lower yielding vines which create a style of intense purity, focus and complexity and with wonderfully rich flavour.
Thinking differently is fundamental to Yealands. Crafting award-winning Sauvignon Blancs in harmony with nature has seen Yealands lead the world in sustainable winegrowing and creating top Sauvignon Blanc releases.
Awards including the trophy for The Best Sauvignon Blanc in the World at The Cathay Pacific International Wine & Spirit Competition, Best New Zealand Wine at the same competition…as well as Winestate Magazines Sauvignon Blanc of The Year. So, the 2015 vintage is a Triple Trophy Winner.
The wine is worthy of its plaudits – wonderful layered complexity with richness and freshness in equal measure. It has pure fruit flavours of guava, blackcurrant leaf and fresh herbs – and bright citrus notes. The palate is textured and elegant and tight, with a limey freshness – and then the distinctive mineral finish that Yealand’s Estate Sauvignon Blanc is renowned for.
