What happens at a tasting?
We will bring 6 or 8 wines to taste along with tasting glasses for your guests, tasting notes and much information and wine facts. A tasting will last between 1 – 2 hours and any wine that is left will be yours to finish off. We will taste each wine in turn, starting with the whites, and usually there is some lively debate about tastes and preferences.
How many people can I invite?
From 6 – 40 tasters
For larger groups and fundraising opportunities we can cater for up to 100 people.
When can I hold a tasting?
Book for any time during the week, afternoon or evenings.
Can I buy wine on the night?
We offer a wide range of wines, any of which can be ordered during the tasting. Being able to try before you buy allows you to purchase the wines that you love. Any wine ordered on the night will be delivered to you within 8 working days.
How do I pay for my wine?
We prefer payment by bank transfer or credit card. We use a portable payment machine.
Am I obliged to order any wine that I try?
No. Our wine-tastings are without obligation but you will have the opportunity to order any wines you like.
What should I do to prepare for a tasting?
It would be helpful if you could have some water on hand for the guests during the tasting and perhaps provide some plain crackers and cheese for your guests to nibble on during the tasting. Leave some space in the fridge so that we can chill the wine we bring with us if necessary. If you would like to match cheese with your wines, we can recommend suitable cheeses for each wine.
I bought a tasting voucher at an event, how do I book my tasting?
Simply call Kevin to discuss possible dates. If you have lost your voucher then contact us on 07730 903852 or firstname.lastname@example.org
Are you part of any other company?
No. Silver Fox Wines Ltd has no affiliation with any other company. We are completely autonomous.
How does a fundraising event work?
Wine tasting is a great way of providing entertainment whilst raising money for your chosen charity. It is illegal to charge entry to the event, ask for donations or sell food in return for tasting wines unless you have a Temporary Event Notice (TEN) from your local council for about £20.00.
You can hold quizzes, competitions and auctions and donate the proceeds to charity. Speak to us to find out more.
What is the minimum order from the online shop?
Our minimum order is 6 bottles.
