Description
These vineyards sit on poor soils of varying depths, consisting mainly of large, rolled quartz stones mixed with sandy red clay.
Châteauneuf Du Pape is the driest area of the Côtes Du Rhône, thanks to the prevailing Mistral wind.
The heat from around 2800 hours of sunshine per year is stored in the soils’ stones and it is released during the cool nights, moderating the change in temperature.
