Grenache Blanc is the prominent grape here, with Vermentino, Roussanne and a touch of Bourboulenc, this Château Viranel white Saint-Chinian typifies all that is good from the Languedoc.
The harvest takes place very early in the morning so that the grapes reach the winery whilst they are still cool to retain their aromas and flavours. 15% of the blend is vinified in new oak barrels and matured on its lees for three months.
The two very different areas of the Viranel estate where white Grenache grows give this wine great balance, a blend of richness and freshness, fruit and an almost saline minerality.
