A 1er Cru Fourchaume Vieilles Vignes from Domaine Vrignaud Chablis which is the product of vines averaging nearly 60 years of age.
It is bottled after 12 months rather than the 9 months of the two other Domaine Vrignaud Chablis premier cru bottlings.
It smells of sea breezes and lightly toasted nuts and seeds, as well as of the mirabelle and melon that go on to define its lush, expansive and highly complex palate. It projects a core of citrus juiciness, although its subtly smoky and saline finish incorporates a hint of creamy richness from its extended lees ageing.
