Leventhorpe Madeleine Angevine

A light delicate dry white wine that has a smoky lime and lemon nose with a hint of peach.

This wine must be ordered in cases of 6 bottles

Orders in multiples of 6 thereafter

Grapes grown at the Levensthorpe vineyard near Leeds are used to make this light delicate dry white wine.
It has a smoky lime and lemon nose with a hint of peach.
This leads to a ripe melon palate with a honeyed finish and a hint of natural sweetness.

This wine was served at a reception and dinner hosted by The Worshipful Company of Vintners in the City of London in 2013.

More recently, in 2016, the Madeleine Angevine brought a taste of Yorkshire to the British Embassy to celebrate the finish of the Tour de France.  It was paired with Yorkshire cheeses and the guests were “astonished at the quality of Yorkshire fare”.  The Vineyard says, “We were delighted to be associated with the Tour de France and its Yorkshire links and proud that our wine had been chosen to represent the region”.

Food Match: Poultry, Fish and spicy dishes.
Serve at 10 – 12 degrees

The Leventhorpe vineyard was established by George Bowden in 1985. The vineyard is a five acre site near Leeds on a south facing slope which leads down to the River Aire.
The soil is well drained sandy loam overlying sand and broken sandstone.
The wines have been recommended by people such as Rick Stein, Oz Clarke and Jancis Robinson.
