The Les Garants vineyard in Fleurie is planted on pink granite soils and has a southwestern exposure. The vines are 65 years old and are pruned in the gobelet style; a number of tending techniques are utilised throughout the year, including budding, tying-up, trimming and green harvesting or bunch thinning.
After manual picking and sorting of the grapes, both on the vine and upon arrival at the winery, the bunches are de-stalked and the grapes macerated for 10 to 12 days before being gently pressed. The wine was matured in French oak barrels after a light racking, before indigenous bacteria began the malolactic fermentation. This Fleurie spent 6 months on its fine lees and was lightly filtered before bottling.
