An intense ruby/garnet red this San Giorgio A Lapi Bandecca Chianti Classico Riserva has a nose that is redolent of ripe cherries, blueberries, dark spice, tobacco and liquorice with a gentle herbaceous note of Tuscan hillsides.
The palate is full and complex, with elegant tannins balancing the lively acidity that gives it freshness. The long, bright finish leaves you with fresh cherry, tobacco, cedar and leather notes.
This Chianti Classico Riserva is a blend of 95% Sangiovese and 5% Colorino, and is fermented in stainless steel before being transferred into oak for maturation. It spends 24 months in a combination of larger old oak barrels and smaller, newer oak barriques before bottling.
